Abstract :
Heating in air at 625 °C a Th0.80Am0.20O2−x sample leads to its full oxidation to stoichiometric oxide. The O/M ratio of a Th0.80Am0.20O2−x sintered in moisturized Ar–H2 is equal to 1.90. More importantly, an excellent agreement was observed between the values obtained by thermogravimetry, by conventional gravimetric analysis and by X-ray Absorption Near Edge Structure (XANES).
