Abstract :
The present research investigates the influence of rhythmic
plays on social skills of preschoolers. Research methodology was experimental
and included a control group and an experiment group. Statistical
population of the present research included all male preschoolers
of Anar City and 40 of them were selected randomly (20 people as control
group members and 20 people as experiment group members). The
children were aged 4-6 years old. Before doing rhythmic plays, social
skills of the children were evaluated by means of Vebrt’s56-item parents’
questionnaire. Then, experiment group members did rhythmic plays in
16 sessions each lasting 1 hour. Rhythmic plays included musical line
game, diamond move, color balls, numbers table game and . Then; social
skills of both groups were evaluated through a posttest. Data were
analyzed by means of covariance analysis and SPSS18. Results showed
that teaching rhythmic plays has significant influence on children social
skills. Teaching rhythmic plays has also significant influence on increasing
social adequacy, and relationships with peers. Considering the influence
of rhythmic plays on children social skills, pre-school centers are
advised to include rhythmic plays in their educational programs.
