Abstract :
Raman scattering investigations were carried out in the monomethylhydrazine–water molecular glass-former systems. Experiments clearly revealed different species of molecular association through characteristic hydrogen-bonding interactions. A relation between fragility and dilution is proposed from low-frequency Raman data. The ability to form H-bonds was analyzed versus dilution from the temperature dependence of the frequency of stretchings associated with H-bonding, and discussed in the context of the glass formation. Intriguing behavior of mixtures around the eutectic composition is reported and interpreted in relation with H-bond heterogeneities.
