  • Abstract
    Mِssbauer spectroscopy has been applied to determine the content and position of Fe2+ and Fe3+ in the structure of vitrified municipal waste incineration ashes as well as their change with temperature increase. Vitrified ashes are the iron-rich calcium aluminosilicate glasses. Fe clustering charaterized by a change of coordination number accompaning its incorporation into the structure of pyroxene as it crystallizes in the glass, was studied.
