Abstract :
The stereochemistry in solution of the diastereoisomeric complexes cis-dichloro[(S)-α-methylbenzylamine][(S)- and (R)-3-phenyl-3-methoxybut-1-ene]platinum(II) has been determined by 1H-NMR spectroscopy: in the two species the ethereal ligand is involved by its oxygen atom in the formation of an interligand O⋯H–N hydrogen bond with the amine. The remarkable differentiation of the 195Pt resonances is due to the different positions of amine substituents with respect to the metal.
