The chemistry of [1]borametallocenophanes and related compounds

Metallocenophanes of early and late transition metals with a variety of different main group element bridges between the two cyclopentadienyl moieties have attracted considerable interest for example as catalysts for the stereospecific generation of polyolefins or as versatile precursors for the synthesis of processable organometallic polymers. The introduction of a borylene moiety as a bridge is a very recent achievement in this area, but has already added some interesting aspects to the rich chemistry of metallocenophanes.
