Zirconium-mediated cyclomagnesiation of styrene using magnesacyclopentane and 1,4-di(brommagnesium)butane as a method for the preparation of macrocyclic organomagnesium compounds

Cyclometalation of styrene with 1,4-bis(brommagnesium)butane and magnesacyclopentane in the presence of Cp2ZrCl2 gives rise to the formation of magnesacycloalkanes, composed of one ethylene molecule and two, three or four styrene molecules.
