Abstract :
The controlled synthesis of PbSe quantum dots in Se-doped glass matrix (SiO2–Na2CO3–Al2O3–PbO2–B2O3) with narrow size distributions was achieved. Quantum dot size can be manipulated by tuning annealing time in the process of thermal treatment. The PbSe QD sizes estimated by 4 × 4 k · p theory were in very good agreement with the measurements of atomic force microscopy.
