Abstract
Structural and optical properties of some ion-conducting lithium barium bismuthate glasses have been studied. The structure of these glasses has been explored from the compositional variation of the density, the molar volume and the glass transition temperature. The density and the molar volume decrease with the increase of lithium ion content in these glasses keeping the barium content fixed. The optical studies in the ultraviolet–visible (UV–VIS) and infrared (IR) regions for all these glasses show a sharp cut-off and a large transmitting window, which make them appealing candidates for the different spectral devices.
