DYNAMIC ABSORBERS FOR AN EXTERNALLY EXCITED PENDULUM

A dynamic absorber, which can move in the transverse or longitudinal direction, is added to an externally excited pendulum. The quenching efficiency of the two different systems is studied and compared. The absorber can be highly efficient for slightly damped systems if it is correctly tuned. This is especially true when only small absorber mass can be used.
