Approximate analytical solutions for oscillation of a mass attached to a stretched elastic wire

Approximate analytical solutions for oscillation of a mass attached to a stretched elastic wire are presented. The approximation is based on combining Newtonʹs method with the harmonic balance method. One iteration step can provide very accurate analytical approximate solutions for both small and large values of oscillation amplitude and parameter.
