Abstract :
The aluminum silicate, Ca12Al10Si4O35, was produced by calcining hydrogarnet at 800 °C as a precursor phase. Hydrogarnet was synthesized hydrothermally below 200 °C using molten slag obtained from municipal solid wastes as a raw material. For the combustion of hydrocarbons such as benzene, toluene and propylene, Ca12Al10Si4O35 obtained from molten slag exhibited the oxidation of hydrocarbons at >300 °C.
