Abstract
The drastic increase in chemical compounds synthesized each year requires the development of new and efficient test concepts to characterize the pharmacological impact of these compounds on a molecular level. In the approach presented here, the voltammetric detection principle is chosen to characterize the bioaffinity in a homogeneous competitive assay with interdigitated array electrodes and histidinepentaammineruthenium(III) trichloride as electroactive label. Quick tests can be performed even at low target concentrations. An assay with labeled biotin and avidin illustrates the feasibility of this concept. Based on this principle high through-put screening can easily be achieved for a broad spectrum of analytes.
