Abstract
The effect of nitrogen dioxide on the conductance of LB films of three asymmetrically substituted amphiphilic phthalocyanines is investigated. They showed unique properties of fast and reversible responses to NO2 at room temperature. UV –Vis-polarized absorption spectra and low angle X-ray diffraction studies show that compound 2 deposited as highly ordered LB films, and is superior to others for gas-sensor applications.
