Phase separation of supported membrane imaged by surface plasmon microscopy

A surface plasmon microscope was used to image the organized supported membrane. The dimyristoyl phosphatidylethanolamine (DMPE) monolayer in phase separation state was imaged in real space. The thickness difference between the region in the liquid-condensed phase and that in the liquid-expanded phase was evaluated.
