On springback of double-curved autobody panels

The springback of double curved autobody panels is studied theoretically and experimentally. Both steel and aluminium sheets are included in this investigation. The obtained results show that the springback is decreased with increasing binder force, increasing curvature, increasing sheet thickness and decreasing yield strength. This paper comprises also a discussion on the plastic strains and their influence on the springback.
