Abstract :
This paper presents a novel approach to data processing for surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors—model parametrization and linear projection (MPLP) method. The method consists of two steps. In the first step, the SPR spectrum is expressed as a parametrized model function and its parameters are determined using the least squares fitting. In the second step, the obtained parameters are linearly projected onto surface and/or bulk refractive index changes. We demonstrate potential of this method on sensor data generated by an SPR affinity biosensor with wavelength interrogation and a conventional prism coupler or a special lightguide supporting two surface plasma waves of different wavelengths.
