Abstract :
In this study, supercritical carbon dioxide-based extraction process was used to remediate the contaminated soil of Pazanan II production unit. During the experiments, the optimum operational conditions including extraction pressure, extraction temperature, solvent flow rate and static extraction time were obtained which effectively eliminate the pollutants from soils. To conveniently examine the effect of supercritical extraction method, gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) analysis were carried out on the intact and remediated soils. Based on the obtained results, pressure was the most effective parameters on the remediation of the contaminated soil. Generally, the results revealed that extraction efficiency increases as the pressure increases while the extraction temperature show reveres effect. The results also showed that the optimal extraction temperature, extraction pressure, CO2 flow rate and static extraction time were 328.15 K, 190 bar, 0.05 cm3/s and 75 min, respectively, leads to yields of 48.7% per 0.03 m3 of consumed gas.
