  • Abstract
    Silver-plated Selemion CMV in the largely dehydrated state exhibits a bending in accordance with the quantity of total charge given to it. Induction and control of Selemion CMV bending curvature have been conventionally performed under the precisely controlled voltage. In this study, the precisely controlled current (charge) was applied to Selemion CMV in order to see if its bending curvature control was possible. It was found that the bending curvature of Selemion CMV was basically proportional to the total charge given to Selemion CMV itself, and the curvature was basically controllable by the current control. The force generated by Selemion was proportional to the charge as well. However, it was found that the polarity change of current caused a large deviation of relationship between curvature and charge from the proportionality. It is necessary to find out a method to correct such a deviation in order to perfectly control the bending curvature, and finding out such a method could lead to the perfect control of force generation as well.
