Abstract :
A novel polycation with gemini structure was synthesized. Photon correlation spectrometer (PCS) measurement and transmission electron microscope (TEM) observation indicate that this polycation has nanoparticle-like feature, and can work with DNA through electrostatic interaction to form polycation–DNA complex, which can obviously enhance the resonance light scattering (RLS) signal. Therefore, this polymer can be used as a new probe for the detection of DNA by RLS technique. And the results show that this method is very convenient, sensitive, high-through and reproducible.
