Abstract :
In this paper we present a fast Boundary Knot Method (BKM) for solving large-scale inhomogeneous Helmholtz problems. The BKM discretization equations are significantly compressed by fast multipole method (FMM) and then are solved by an iterative method called ML(n)BiCGSTAB. It is observed through a benchmark problem that the CPU time and memory requirements are significantly reduced from O ( N 2 ) in the traditional BKM to O(N) in the proposed fast BKM.
