Abstract
A statistical model of systematic errors when processing the results of a few experiments is presented. The model includes the shift and tilt systematic errors (the linear error model). To obtain estimates of unknown parameters and unknown variance components, the maximum likelihood method is suggested to apply. The algorithm to maximize a likelihood function in the case of a non-linear physico-chemical model and the linear error model is described. The method has been applied to both simulated and real data (the vaporization of KC1). The results obtained are compared with those of the least squares method.
