Data evaluation for the characterization of individual aerosol particles using time-of-flight mass spectrometry

This note describes alternatives for the evaluation of spectra using time-of-flight mass spectrometry. The data show correlation between the size and the composition of the particles. In the most recent studies the evaluation of the chemical composition of the aerosol particles and the sorting of the mass spectral data into classes was done by hand. To do this tedious task by computer several algorithms are proposed.
