Abstract :
Pulse technique was proposed in this paper to study the characteristics of three kinds coal-char combustion with high partial pressure of oxygen under the temperature of 1273–1573 K to simulate the process of coal combustion with pure oxygen. Oxygen or the mixture of nitrogen and oxygen was taken as the pulse gas. An on-line gas chromatography with TCD was employed to detect the concentration of CO and CO2 in the reacted pulse gas. Helium was used as both the carrier gas and reference gas in TCD. The results showed that the apparent reaction rate increased strongly as a function of oxygen concentration up to 100% under the operation pressure 0.18 MPa. The reaction orders for the three chars were all close to unity. The activation energies were about 20 kcal/mol in the temperature range of 1273–1573 K.
