Abstract :
Organic–inorganic hybrid Li+ ion conductors were synthesized by sol–gel process. Hybrid conductors were prepared from tetra-methyl-orthosilicate and polyethylene glycol (PEG). The effects of molecular weight of PEG and lithium salt concentration on the ionic conductivity were investigated. Hybrid gel conductor at ([Li]/[O]=0.05] showed very high ionic conductivity values of 1.82×10−4 S/cm, 1.0×10−3 S/cm at room temperature and 60°C, respectively. We found that ionic conductivity increased with decreasing molecular weight.
