Abstract :
We analyze the effect of variation of I01/I02 on short-circuit current and the fill factor of a solar cell having resistive and current leakage losses. This analysis is particularly important for the polycrystalline solar cells, where higher values of I02 and hence lower values of I01/I02 can be expected due to the space charge regions associated with the grain boundaries. Also in polycrystalline solar cells, we cannot ignore the effect of series and shunt resistances. It is observed that the value of fill factor depends on Rs, Rsh and I01/I02, while the value of Isc depends only on Rs and I01/I02.
