  • Abstract
In this work, the application of the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) in connection with the inverse continuous wavelet transform (iCWT) in voltammetry is presented. In addition, optimization conditions are fulfilled by the use of the dedicated wavelet as a mother wavelet, defined on the base of an ideal voltammetric signal. It was proven that this rarely applied signal processing algorithm gives satisfactory results when used in both denoising and the removal of various shape baselines, as well as the separation of overlapping peaks. Numerous simulation examples, as well as three experimental tasks in which signal processing was necessary, are presented. The application of CWT followed by iCWT in voltammetric determination of Cr(VI) in natural water samples, the determination of Zn in pharmacological samples, and the analysis of Sb(III) concentrations in the presence of Cu(II) in suboptimal experimental conditions are described.
