In the case of the rectangular cylinder with depth (D)/ breadth (B) ratio of 2.0, which is elastically mounted in heaving mode in uniform flows, the aerodynamic divergent oscillations with the particular dependency of response on dynamic properties occur over the resonant velocity. Such unstable oscillations caused by the motion-induced flow structures affected the large afterbody of the rectangular cylinder.
