Ordering and disordering in L10 FePd alloys as studied by residual resistivity measurement

The evolution of L10 long range order in recrystallized and deformed stoichiometric FePd alloys is studied by residual electrical resistivity measurement during isochronal annealing treatment. The formation and dissolution of order in the recrystallized and the deformed samples are compared with the different microstructures developing in both cases as known from the literature. The stresses produced by the rolling deformation seem to induce preferential domain alignment resulting in higher long-range order in the deformed than in the recrystallized specimen.
