Abstract
Corrosion resistance of iron aluminides was investigated in molten glass. Iron aluminide with cerium additive (Fe28Al3Cr0.02Ce) and comparative steels (AISI 446, AISI 314) were tested and compared. The corrosion resistance was determined using measurement of weight loss. The tinting of molten glass is important to describe the interaction between the molten glass and the investigated materials. The corrosion resistance of aluminide against soda-potash glass was observed to be better than that of the compared steels.
