Abstract :
Clinical surveillance increases knowledge and skills of nurses and led to their empowerment is acute condition. Investigation rate of applying of clinical surveillance can facilities implementation of clinical surveillance, and it can be useful for future planning. Therefore, this study was conducted by this aim. In this descriptive study data were collected from 222 nurses who selected to participate in the study with random sampling method from four teaching hospitals in Tabriz. For assessing nursesʹ attitude toward importance of clinical surveillance Bulechek, Butcher, and Dochterman questioner was used. Its validity was evaluated by content validity and test retest was used for its reliability. Data was analyzed by SPSS software using Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney test. Results showed that rate of applying of clinical surveillance by nurses in acute conditions with average of 152.15±22.66 had desirable level. Statements of assessment patients’ vital signs and bleeding were the most control by nurses and monitoring behavioral patterns and coping reactions were less controlled. Using of Kruskal-Wallis test show significant relationship between rate of applying of clinical surveillance and type of hospital (p < 0.001). By considering desirable applying of clinical surveillance in acute conditions and their focus on physical problems, provision of educational facilities and management support to enhance the applying of clinical surveillance seems to be effective and is recommended.
