Abstract :
Occupational motivation is one of the fundamental subjects related to occupation and career. Today, employment is one the main issues of industrial community. By work division and specialization of employment and the significance of occupational progress, motivation is an important issue. Increase of employeesʹ efficiency is one of the topics considered by managers of factories and organizations and improvement of motivation plays significant role in increase of efficiency. To achieve this, it is required to realize effective factors on motivation. The aim of the present study is to investigate the relation between irrational believes and occupational motivation of employees working in factories of Golestan province. To achieve this goal, 380 employees of Golestan factories were selected by cluster sampling and completed Herzberg occupational motivation questionnaire and Jones irrational believes questionnaire and the results were analyzed. The results indicated that there is meaningful relation between irrational believes and occupational motivation, however, irrational believes have no meaningful and significant role in prediction of occupational motivation. Thus, it is possible to affect occupational motivation by changing irrational believes. At the end, some practical and research recommendations are presented.
