Abstract :
One of the main and most difficult problems in computer-aided design is to produce automatically a 3D object model from its engineering drawings. A solution to this problem is considered in this article. The main difficulties are discussed and experimental technology that includes automatic engineering drawing scanning, vectorisation and recognition, ED image parameterisation and 3D object reconstruction are included in the proposed solution.
