A postprocessing finite volume element method for time-dependent Stokes equations

In this paper, we utilize the P 1 - P 0 macro-element to develop a postprocessing finite volume element procedure for time-dependent Stokes equations. The method raises by one order the H 1 norm rate of convergence of the velocity and correspondingly the L 2 norm of the pressure. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the theoretical analysis.
