Modelling Seasonal Predator-Prey Interactions

We analyse an existing two variable model of predator-prey interactions. The analysis reveals problems in the model formulation. The main problem is related to the fact that the model is a mixture of empirically and causally based dynamic equations. An attempt to repair the model is made, but a completely satisfactory solution is not reached. We argue that model constructions, in which causal and empirical formulations are combined, contain fundamental problems.
