Abstract
Radiation effects on natural convection heat transfer past an inclined semi-infinite surface is investigated using Lie group analysis. Symmetries found reduce the partial differential equations governing the fluid motion to a system of ordinary differential equations with appropriate boundary conditions. Numerical solution obtained using the fourth order Runge–Kutta scheme with shooting method shows that the thickness of the thermal boundary layer decreases and velocity increases with increasing Grashof number. Also it is observed that increasing the value of the radiation parameter increases both the temperature and velocity of the fluid.
