Abstract
The removal of binder from green parts is complicated and time consuming. In order to reduce the defects and total time of debinding in advance, wick debinding may be employed by finer powders. A simple experiment is conducted and Taguchiʹs method is used in the present investigation. Direct observation of melting binder distribution is made by flow visualisation and the theoretical model of debinding time is verified again. The results show that under the optimum setting (A1B2C1D1), the confirmation experiment yielded an improvement about 15 dB and 10 dB in fingering defect and the residual of binder, respectively.
