Parametric modelling of burst-type signals

An amplitude-modulated sinusoidal signal model with an exponential modulating function is presented in this paper. The novel signal model is found to be suitable for the representation of non-stationary burst-type signals. The technique for the estimation of model parameters is developed in detail. The simulation study is carried out for both synthesized marine-like and natural ECG signals.
