Abstract :
We give a new characterisation of rational LS category, cat0(X), from which two theorems follow. Theorem 1:cat0(X × Y) = cat0(X) + cat0(Y). Theorem 3: If X is a Poincaré duality complex, then cat0(X) = e0(X), where e0 is Toomerʹs invariant.
