Causality in Commutant Lifting Theory

In this paper, we prove a version of the Commutant Lifting Theorem in which a causality constraint is explicitly taken into account. Thus the result combines the dilation ideas of Sz.-Nagy and Foias and the nested algebra approach of Averson.
