Difference Families From Lines and Half Lines

Using lines and half lines in a two-dimensional vector space overGF(q), we generalize the constructions of difference families of Xia and Liu which are important for the construction of Williamson-type matrices. Also based on this geometric point of view, we give new and simpler proofs for these constructions.
