N-Tuples in the Class A(N) and Factorization Properties

The main purpose of this paper is to exhibit N-tuples of commuting operators (N⩾2) in the class A(N) (i.e., with an isometric w*-continuous H∞(DN) calculus) without the approximate factorization property.
