Discrete spectrum in the gaps for perturbations of periodic Jacobi matrices

In the paper we study the problem of the finiteness of the discrete spectrum for operators generated by perturbations of periodic Jacobi matrices. In particular, estimate formulae for the number of the eigenvalues created by perturbations in the gaps of the unperturbed operator are established.
