On the uniqueness and non-uniqueness of the positive -eigenvector for transition probability tensors

We study the basic properties of transition probability tensors. We investigate sufficient conditions for this class of tensors to ensure the uniqueness of the positive Z -eigenvector. We use three different methods: contraction mappings, monotone operators, and the Brouwer index of fixed points.
