Valence formulas for certain arithmetic groups and their applications

We find valence formulas related to arithmetic groups Γ 0 + ( N ) . As an application, we find an upper bound of the dimension of the space of modular forms for Γ 0 + ( N ) . Moreover Sturm bounds and certain linear relations for cuspidal Poincaré series are derived.
