Changing environmental strategies over time: An empirical study of the steel industry in the United States

This study investigates how environmental strategies change over time. We submit evidence from the US steel industry that firms have modified their strategies over time. We offer that US industry passed through three stages — cost minimization, cost-effective compliance, and beneficial environmental controls. pare typologies of environmental strategies and choose that of C. Oliver as the most appropriate. We investigate how environmental strategies in the steel industry changed over time a 4-year period.
