Land Cover Estimation in Small Areas Using Ground Survey and Remote Sensing

For estimating crop acreage in “small areas” using ground survey and remote sensing, an Empirical Best Linear Unbiased Predictor Estimator is considered. It is a weighted mean of the Survey Regression and the Synthetic Regression estimators. The gain in precision due to the remotely sensed data is estimated for a case study.
