A modification of the relative Nielsen number of H. Schirmer

We introduce a relative fixed point index indAf of a self-map of a polyhedral pair f : (X, A) → (X, A). We use this index to define a homotopy invariant NX, A(f) which is a lower bound for the number of fixed points.
