Simple geodesics on a punctured surface

We give a new proof of McShaneʹs Theorem [G. McShane, Simple geodesics and a series constant over Teichmuller space, Invent. Math. 132 (3) (1998) 607–632], using simple equivariant methods in the hyperbolic plane.
