The compact--open topology on

This paper introduces the compact- G δ -open topology on the set C ( X ) of all real-valued continuous functions on a Tychonoff space X and compares this topology with the point-open and compact-open topologies on C ( X ) . In the second half, the metrizability, separability and uniform completeness are studied.
